While I was in New York, I had the pleasure of going to view the Daphne Guinness exhibit of her personal collection. Expecting to be inspired, I had no idea the impact this exhibit would have on me. Traveling through the rooms reminded me how I had felt a few months earlier at the McQueen : Savage Beauty exhibit. A common theme throughout the exhibit was armor. She spoke of the clothing she wore every day as a sort of armor and it rekindled an idea I had in my head from some time ago for a shoot… The robotic girl. Playing off the idea of what I consider to be beautiful, I created a character forged in a southern factory, abandoned by time.
Daphne Guinness was such a huge inspiration for this shoot, I thought I would be sure and upload this video to my blog.
